Thanks for reprinting that article...it brought memories of my first year teaching at NTID in 1969. Dr. Castle interviewed me and approved hiring me. He signed well and I had no idea of his oral background until much later. Note: Dr. Robert Frisina, another with an oral background, also signed well.
The fact that these heavyweights were strong supporters of the oral method and yet cooperated in making NTID an institution that used sign language in all classrooms is remarkable.
Yes, the name Bell should absolutely be removed from the RIT campus. Sign the petition!
Wow after almost 40 years you, NTID/RID students/graduates, did not understand what interpreted words on the plague meaning to you. It clearly shows that NTID/RIT truly always honor and bow to AGB's freak philosophy. Now, someone started to notice it and realized that he/she is no longer blind. I am thrilled to see there are ongoing petitioners determine to DISCLAIM that the NTID/RID support AGB's avocation any longer.
Yes, I agree and have read a book by Harlane Lane when I was in post school. At first, I was so shock what AgBad did to us. Yes, go ahead to remove the plague in the midnight without any formal ceremial. Yes, I remember Kansas School for Deaf where I was from that they have or had a big picture of AgBad front of the lobby in the main building. That time I was little boy, I looked at the picture. He looked retard and scared and hidden from his deaf wife beating. Thank you, Scott

You may want to make sure that President Destler sees this paper to help him understand what the issue is about.
